Canterbury Names Six
The Canterbury Rugby team will have only two emergencies when it plays Taranaki at New Plymouth next Saturday. Seven members of the team are in the South Island fifteen and an eighth, L. J. Davis, is a reserve, while only six have been named to join the side. The replacement players, who will jo'n the Canterbury team only for the game against Taranaki, are S. C. M. Murray (Lincoln College), L. G. Legge (Old Boys), N. J. Stokes (Linwood), W. J... Risrnan (Christchurch), N. G. Cornelius (Amberley) and E. R. Leask (New Brighton).
These selections again indicate the strange position in which some players in Canterbury find themselves. M. J. Toner (Shirley), L. D. Mclntosh (Old Boys) and P. N. Duncan (University A) are three loose forwards who have been in Canterbury A squads this year: now they are not considered to be among the first six loose forwards in the union, nor even be selected for Canterbury B. The replacement players are required to x contact the secretary of the Canterbury Rugby Union before Thursday to ascertain travel arrangements. —Advt.
