(From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, August 25.

parts of a human skeleton were found on the shingle beach south of the Rangitata fishing huts at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday. The bones—about eight inches of the vertebrae, two pelvic bones and a full left leg without the foot—had obviously been in the sea a long time, said Sergeant R. H. McMurray, of the Timaru Police. The remains were found by Christeen Anne Dwight, aged 11, of 27 Kendal Avenue, Christchurch. The police will be given a report on them by the pathologist at the Timaru Hospital (Dr L. A. Faigan). Several months before a man was drowned in the Waitaki River, but his body was not recovered.
