AUCKLAND. Aug. 20.
Few Mother’s Day presents bring fame, but Mrs Jean Lenden, a member of the Mountain Green Archery Club in Auckland today achieved a world-class performance with the bow which was given to her by her family earlier this year.
Competing by invitation in the North Shore Archery Club’s winter competition at Takapuna, Mrs Lenden recorded 1101 points out of a possible 1296. The previous best New Zealand total recorded at the same distance was the 965 by Mrs Alice Pullum, a member of the North Shore club.
