HELICOPTER FOR CHATHAMS.—Propeller blades being removed from a Hiller 12E helicopter at Lyttelton yesterday before the machine was stowed in the hold of the Holmdale for transport to the Chatham Islands. Owned by Alexander Helicopters, Ltd, of Wanganui, the machine was flown from Wanganui to Christchurch on Monday and to Lyttelton yesterday. It will be used for unloading crayfish from trawlers at the Chathams. The helicopter firm has been working in the Chathams for more than a year. The Holmdale is expected to leave Lyttelton today.
