Schools Holiday Tournaments

HOCKEY Christchurch: Three teams were unbeaten after the first two days of the secondary schoolboys* hockey tournament at Riccarton High School. Two of these, Christchurch Boys’ High School and Napier Boys’ High School, will meet in the key game of section A today, while Hagley High School could be hard pressed to remain unbeaten in the B section. Auckland: Linwood High School has won section A and Auckland Grammar section D. The semi-finals will be played today when Linwood will probably meet the strong Kamo High School team. In its morning game yesterday. Linwood again relished the good surface and outplayed Wanganui High School, 4-0. The short-passing Linwood game was too much for Wanganui. The goal scorers were B. Beaumont (2), D. Small and A. Petheram.

Linwood had an easy game against Avondale College in the afternoon, to win, 9-0. Goals were scored by Small (2), K. Matthews (2), R. Parry (3), Beaumont and Petheram.
