Short Race Intervals
Short race intervals at the first two trotting meetings in the South Island this season have received favourable comment from both the public and owners and trainers. The Kurow club ran nine races between 11 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., while on the first day of the national meeting at Addington Raceway nine races were run between 11 a.m. and 3.50 p.m. Had it not been for a delay caused by a horse falling before the start of the final event, the Addington meeting would have finished within a minute of two of the advertised time.
The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting club will finish the second day of its national meeting at 3.50 p.m. on Saturday .
