Record 64 To Gain Lead
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) AKRON (Ohio). D. Bies. of Seattle, fired a record-breaking six-under-par 64 on Saturday to take the lead after the third round in the American Golf Classic.
Bies, aged 30, had trailed the second-round leader, W. Campbell, by seven strokes, but had six birdies to break the course record of 65, for his 54-hole total of 206. Campbell and A. Palmer were on 208. Campbell having a 71 and Palmer a 68.
