Easy Win For Tai Tapu
The Tai Tapu team. V. Rush, R. Rush and R. Milner, dominated the Tullett Memorial interclub motor-cycle teams trial, held over 24 steep hillside sections at Greenwoods Bridge, Amberley, yesterday. They took an early lead with some outstanding riding and finally won by 64 points from the 1967 winners, Pioneer A. With the New Zealand champion, E. Norriss, and two other very prominent performers, T. Wharnsby and P. Chapple, in its team. Pioneer A seemed set for another vistory, but on the day the Tai Tapu trio was too good. In the individual section, R. Rush gave a brilliant display to lose only 22 points. He handled his 200 c.c. Triumph with impressive skill to head off his Tai Tapu team-mate, Milner, by 16 points. V. Rush was third with 40 points lost, There were 29 riders in the trial. Results were:
