St Andrew’s Ball
A display of richlycoloured tartans and shields decorated the Winter Garden for the St Andrew’s College Old Boys’ Association ball last evening.
About 400 attended and guests were welcomed by the president (Mr L. N. Hudson) and Mrs Hudson. Specially invited guests included the chairman of the board of governors (Mr W. J. Mac Gibbon) and Mrs Mac-
Gibbon; Mr L. W. Stewart, past rector, and Mrs Stewart; Mr I. T. Galloway, the rector, and Mrs Galloway, Mr R. Pannell, president of the ParentTeacher Association, and Mrs Pannell; Mr A. G. Gillies, a retiring staff member, and Mrs Gillies; and representatives of kindred associations from Rangi-Ruru Presbyterian School for Girls; St Bede’s College, Ashburton High School, Hagley High School, Shirley Boys’ High School, St Margaret’s College, Timaru Boys’ High School, Waitaki Boys' High School, Christ's College, and Christchurch Boys’ High School. The ball was organised by the St Andrew’s Old Boys' Association executive, led by Mr Hudson, and the secretary (Mr G. A. Hilson).
