An active person aged approximately 30-40 with a marine engineering background or accustomed to the inspection of steam plant and/or welding would be most suitable for this position. Principally the work entails the checking of mechanical equipment, for corrosion and wear, and of welding up to code specifications. This type of work involves the use of x-ray and ultrasonic equipment. The successful applicant will also have to understand technical drawings and be able to make technical reports and simple technical drawings and calculations. This is a varied and interesting job and carries a good salary.
