Each new span will be erected on top of the existing structure by the department’s staff using drifts and temporary field bolts anc| the contract will be for driving approximately 6000 rivets per span or a total of 12,600 rivets. It is estimated that the work will extend over approximately eight months, although the riveting of each span should occupy about five weeks.
