Notification of another private member’s measure, the Ministry of National Resources Bill, was given by Mr W. E. Rowling (Lab., Buller) when Parliament resumed yesterday afternoon. The annual report of the Ashburton Licensing Trust was tabled. Ministers answered nine questions. The House then continued with legislation. The Stamp Duties Amendment Bill was given a second reading. Members were discussing the Land and Income Tax (Annual) Bill and the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill in a combined debate when the House rose at 4 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
