Sale Of Antiques
A seventeenth-century oak dresser realised the top price of $350 at an auction sale of antiques at the Kaiapoi premises of R. G. Bell and Company, Ltd, yesterday. A French chest with ormolu mounts was passed in at $6OO. Other main prices among the 250 lots were: Georgian sideboard, $260; four Victorian dining chairs, $208; three eighteenth-century dining chairs with rush seats, $186; 1795 conveyancing document, $l2; Georgian bow-front chest, $270; Victorian burrwalnut side table, $250; inlaid walnut 100 table, $270.
