Delegates Chosen For Parliamentary Talks
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 8. Members of Parliament today chose delegations to attend Parliamentary conferences in the West Indies and Latin America later this year. Parliament adjourned an hour early this afternoon so that members could attend the annual meeting of the New Zealand branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the New Zealand national group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The chairman of both organisations, the Speaker (Mr R E. Jack) said three mem-
bers had been chosen to represent the New Zealand branch of the C.P.A. at the association’s annual conference in Nassau, the Bahamas, in October and November. The delegation would be led by the Chief Government Whip, Mr A. E. Allen (Franklin), and would include Mr J. F. Luxton (Nat., Piako) and the Chief Opposition Whip, Mr H. L. J. May (Porirua). Mr H. V. Donald (Nat., Wairarapa) and Mr R. J. Tizard (Lab., Pakuranga) will represent the New Zealand group at the annual conference of the I.P.U. at Lima, Peru, in September.
