Crew Gives Trouble

(NZ. Press Ann—Copyright) GIBRALTAR, August 4.

A British destroyer escorted the British merchant ship Kinross towards Gibraltar today after the master radioed for help after unrest among his Chinese crew.

The destroyer Decoy raced to the aid of the Kinross (5338 tons) on Friday after the captain radioed that the crew was holding political meetings, and that he feared for the safety of his British officers and himself. The Kinross, owned by the Yick Fung Shipping Company of Hong Kong, was bound for Algiers from Cape Town. Naval sources in Gibraltar have reported that the crew now appears to be cowed, and that there has been no report of any further trouble.
