Jones had a 76 in the second round, and his 36-hole total of 150 was four strokes better than the cut-off mark of 154. Sixty-four players will compete in the match play. The long-hitting, J. Doyle of Winnipeg, scored a two-under-par 68 to lead the qualifiers on 139. He was one stroke ahead of K. Alexander (Calgary), a former champion, and J. Ellison (Toronto).
