Mission Run At Loss
The Christchurch Methodist Central Mission operated at a loss of $1640 for the last year, the superintendent of the Mission (the Rev W. E. Falkingham) said in bis annual report to the mission’s board of management last evening.
Total expenditure for the year was $110,689. The mission has a present full-time staff of 66.
It was decided to negotiate with the Presbyterian Church for the establishment of a home for the aged in Greymouth and also for a home in Nelson.
This shows how the chu-ches have moved together that we now are able to do things like this. We really are able to negotiate with all four other churches which are working with us towards church union,” Mr Falkingham said.
