Smith Tops $500,000
(N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) SYDNEY. The leading Sydney trainer, T. J. Smith, topped $500,000 in prlae-money for the season when Adamunda won the Macarthur Quality Handicap at Rosehill on Saturday. The win took Smith's stake earnings for 1967-68 to $500,410, a record for any trainer in the British Commonwealth. Adamunda was Smith's 148th winner since the season began on August 1 last year. The trainer was 51550 short of the half-million mark before the Rosehill meeting began and he entered a large team to ensure his record. Smith did not see Adamunda's win, as he is overseas.
