ALLEGATION DISCREDITED

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, July 11. A Government White Paper published in Britain has dismissed allegations of maltreatment of elderly patients in mental hospitals. The White Paper uses such phrases as “gross distortion of the facts,” “no substances in the allegations” and “no evidence in support.” The allegations were made In a book, “Sans Everything,” published last year. In the House of Commons, the Minister of Health (Mr Kenneth Robinson) said he deeply regretted the anxieties caused to patients and their relatives, and to hospital staffs and the public by the publication of so many allegations “which are now authoritatively discredited.”
