FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A depression centred east of New Zealand is moving slowly off the country and an anticyclone over Eastern Australia extends on to the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Canterbury and the Kaikoura Coast. — Moderate south-west winds; cloudy and cold; some rain at times, chiefly about and north of Banks Peninsula. Central Marlborough, the Sounds, Nelson, Buller and Westland.—Moderate winds, mainly west or south-west; fine; moderate temperatures. Outlook.—All districts: Coastal showers in the east; elsewhere fair weather.
