Joint Use Of Church
Anglican, Methodist and Presbyterian worshippers will share a church at Rolleston. A letter from the Rolleston Combined Church Committee, setting out the proposals for the church, was received at a meeting of the Presbytery of Christchurch on Tuesday. Services in the area have previously been held in the Rolleston Hall, but plans are in hand to move the Ellesmere Methodist Church from its present site to a one-acre site owned Jointly by the Anglican and Methodist churches, in Rolleston. A draft of the constitution was received and referred to the- ecumenical and church union committee of the Presbytery for further consideration.
The joint Christchurch commission of the five negotiating Churches for church union will also be Informed of the proposals.
