Cowan Out For One Week
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. A. Cowan, the rider of Spray Doone in the Corunna Hurdles at Trentham yesterday, was suspended from the end of the day's racing until 5 p.m. on July 17. Cowan was charged with attempting to weigh out. minus one iron, and with changing his riding boots without obtaining permission from the stewards. Evidence was heard from the clerk of the scales, two assistant stipendiary stewards and Cowan.
