Seven Charges Admitted (N.I. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 10. Hamutana Taane Tangia Poi, aged 21. a police constable, who admitted three charges of theft on Tuesday, pleaded guilty to four further charges today. Poi was remanded on all seven chafges by Mr D. J. Sullivan, S.M., until July 17 for a probation report. Inspector N. Howes said that Poi, as a constable at the time of the offences, was collecting outstanding fines for'the Justice Department. Poi took money totalling $199.60 from debtors and issued them with interim receipts, but failed to pay the money to the Justice Department.

Poi said his troubles started when he began drinking heavily and got into debt.
