LATE-NIGHT SHOPPING
Hastings Vote For Friday (N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, July 8. Shop assistants voted at a meeting in Hastings for the retention of late-night shopping on Fridays. The secretary of the Wellington Shop Assistants’ Union, Mr J. G. Shankie, who addressed the meeting, said this morning that although the opinion for the retention of Friday was not unanimous, the vote was overwhelming.
