Findings Of Nassella
Young nassella tussock plants were still being found on the Christchurch Airport leasehold land, said the noxious weeds inspector (Mr F. E. Hosking) in a report to the Paparua Country Council on 26 properties known to be infested with nassella. He said that on several properties there was a definite increase. Young tussocks were appearing where the North Canterbury Catchment Board had repaired the Waimakariri stopbank between Thompsons Road and Shipleys Road. A dense infestation had been found In the old swimming pool area at the Weedons domain, said Mr Hosking, and young tussocks were appearing on the stopbank at the army rifle range at West Melton.
