More Entries' In Skating
The figure skating section of the New Zealand championships will be held at Lake Ida on Saturday and Sunday for the first time. in more than a decade. However, the switch from the Small Indoor rink to the lake appears to have, had a beneficial affect on entries. Total numbers competing are about the same as usual but there has been a revival of Interest in the dancing events. In these events skaters who have been missing from' the competitive scene for a considerable time will return to the limelight. Among them are I, B. McDonald, many times a New Zealand' champion, Who will be paired with Miss C. Beeler, and D. Hewinson and Mrs P. HewlnInson.
The championships will be sponsored by Rothmans.
