Mr Juan Matteucci, the principal conductor of the N.Z.B.C. Symphony Orchestra, has been appointed musical director and principal conductor of the Auckland Symphonia. He will take up the post when his present appointment ends. Mr Matteucci has been principal conductor of the N.Z.B.C. Symphony Orchestra since 1964, when he came from Chile. Until then he had been for 10 years the musical director and principal conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Chile.
