NEW LEADER
Eli Goren, leader of the Allegri Quartet, has announced that he will retire at the end of this season to teach and to write a book on the violin. His place in the quartet will be taken by Hugh Maguire, former leader of the London Symphony Orchestra and the 8.8. C. Symphony Orchestra.
Mr Maguire's major commit ment with the quartet will be a seven-week tour of the United States.
