Linemen’s Dispute (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 7. Four Auckland homes were without power most of the week-end because of an overtime ban by 370 Auckland Electric Power Board linemen. A team of about 20 engineers and overseers re-' paired faults which occurred after 11 p.m. on Friday. Linemen normally on call have banned all but essential overtime because of a pay dispute with the board. The board’s chief engineer (Mr M. G. Keys) said tonight that his emergency team had dealt with many faults at the, week-end. They repaired i nearly all of them but four i houses had to be left without electricity after power lines came down and could not be replaced.A power circuit to Mangere failed late on Friday night' causing a 45-minute blackout Some unionists lifted their overtime ban to help repair the break which affected essential services.

On Saturday night a car snapped a power pole in Tamaki Drive, Mission Bay, but engineers on the emergency roster restored power.
