(Belgium). G. Agostini, of Italy, on an M.V., won the 500 c.c. race when he covered the 131.42 miles in 63min 11.8 sec at an average speed of 124.81 m.p.h. at Francorchamps, in Belgium, on Sunday. The Italian’s time improved the five-year-old race record set by M. Hailwood (Britain), who won at an average speed of 122.98 m.p.h. in 1963 on an Augusta. Agostini now has 40 world championship points in this vear’s series—a lead of 22 points over his nearest rival, an Australian. J. Findlay, who was second on Sunday.
