Visits By Two Squash Teams
Christchurch will be host to two overseas squash rackets teams. The Australian women’s team will arrive next Saturday, and the South African Universities team will play two matches in August. The secretary 'Mr N. B. Ulbrich) reported to the monthly meeting of the Canterbury Squash Rackets Association that it was likely that the New Zealand women's champion. Mrs V. Biss (Palmerston North), would be available to play for a Canterbury invitation team against the Australians. He also said that the South African University team of five would play the second test against New Zealand Universities in Christchurch on August 6. and a Canterbury team on August 7
It was decided that September 21 would be suitable for the postponed representative match against Southern Districts, the match to be played in Christchurch.
This year the Christchurch closed tournament will be organised by the Christ’s College club and will be held over the week beginning July 22 Because of the departure of Mr J. F. Henderson, the Canterbury selector. Mr L. G. Milne was appointed to replace him.
