R.S.A. BAR HOURS

Change Not Accepted After Mr L. F. Fox had complained to the executive of the Christchurch Returned Services' Association last evening that on a recent evening he had been the only customer In the bar at 9 p.m., the president (Mr J. Green) said the association was not losing money. “But I have to admit that one night we only took 32 cents,” Mr Green said. Over-all the essociation was not losing money, Mr T. McCormick said, and he was supported by Mr A. S. Farrar, who gave profit figures for hour-by-hour sales in recent months.

“We are giving an amenity which more organisations will use in the future,” Mr D. N. Harland said. “Once we change the hours to suit ourselves we will lost that, and once we have changed our hours we will not be able to revert.”

The executive agreed that it should continue with the 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. hours for two months, when there would be a report from the bar committee.
