House Brings $15,100 A two-storey, wooden house with four bedrooms at 12 Merlewood Avenue, Cashmere was sold for $15,100 at auction by R. Simes, of W. E. Simes and Company. The Government valuation is $12,900. The house, which also has access from Dyers Pass Road, is on a section of more than three-quarters of an acre, capable of subdivision. Bidding opened at $14,000. Schools Centenary The centennial celebrations of the Ngatimoti School and the consolidated schools of Orinoco, Pangatotara, Pokororo and Woodstock will be be held on October 12 and 13. Waggons Derailed Five waggons were derailed early on Friday morning at the Rahu siding, about 20 miles from Westport, closing the line to Reefton until the evening.
