Week-end Accidents On Roads

When three cars collided at the corner of Straven and Fendalton Roads about 1.15 a.m. yesterday six persons were injured. Brian Johns, of 14 Ashby Place, Lyn Broomhall, of 23 Arthur Street, James Cullen, of 9 Gregory Street, and Ellen Fraser, of 18 Gregory Street were all admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries. John Fraser, of 18 Gregory Avenue, suffered leg injuries, and James Cullen, of 9 Gregory Avenue, minor injuries. They were treated at the casualty department

Motor-Scooter Accident.— A motor-scooter and a car collided at the corner of Barrington Street and Bewdley Street about 11 p.m. on Saturday. Gary Victor Hunt, of 73 Kaiwara Street, suffered head and leg injuries, and Paul Derbyshire, of 227 A Waimea Terrace, head injuries. They were both admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Car Hits Pole.—When a car struck a pole at the corner of Waterloo Road and Racecourse Road about 9.45 p.m. on Saturday two persons were injured. Murray Ellis, of 64 Epsom Road, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital with multiple facial injuries. Adrian Jackson, of 45 Mortlake Street; was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital suffering from head and chest injuries. Cyclist Injured.—After his cycle and a car collided in Greers Road late on Saturday evening, Barry Kennedy, aged 12, of 86 Cotswold Avenue, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries. Seriously Injured.— Roger Wilson, of 62 Amyes Road, Hornby, suffered serious head, chest and internal injuries when a car struck a pole in Riccarton Road near the Bush Inn about 5.56 a.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where his condition was reported last evening as fairly comfortable.

Car Rolls Over.—Head injuries were suffered by Jack Finiki, of 70 Greendale Avenue, Avonhead, when a car rolled over at the comer of the Main North Road and Winters Road, Papanui, at 4.57 a.m. on Saturday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Head Injuries.—After a motor-cycle and a car collided at the comer of Sewell and Davie Streets, Kaiapoi, at 11.57 a.m. yesterday, Brian Terry Marsh, of 126 Maku Street, Kaiapoi, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries.
