Le Chant, the New Zealand trotter, on Thursday became the seventh entrant in the Roosevelt world trotting championship event on July 13, United Press International reported. The eight-year-old mare, now campaigning in Canada, joins a star-studded field that includes Roqueptne (France), Kentucky Fibber (Sweden), Simmerl (Germany), Epsom (Austria), Ecumene (Italy), and Carlisle (United States). (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The Wellington Bsctng Club will give trophies for the owner, trainer and rider of the winner of the McGregor Grant Handicap, which will be run at Ellerslie on Tuesday, July 30. Announcing this yesterday, the Auckland Baclng Club's secretary. Mr W. N. Mackie, said the A.B.C. would be providing trophies for all other races at the meeting, which is being held to honour the retiring S resident. Dr A. McGregor rant.
