GAS FLOW AT MOOMBA

Delhi-Santos Strike (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ADELAIDE, July 5. 1 The Delhi-Santos Moombs No. 8 well in South Australia struck a gas flow today. “Gas flowed to the surface in eight minutes and the final flow reported was 891,000 cubic feet a day through a 7-16 inch choke,” said the Santos’ statement. “The interval tested was 7664 to 7757 feet across the upper part of the Permian formation.” Coring and testing of the section will continue. Gas reserves of at least 600,000 m cubic feet have already been proved at the Moomba field from four previous wells. Only yesterday it was announced that a contract had been let for a s4om pipeline to bring the gas 480 miles to Adelaide.
