MINIMUM PRICE
Optometrists Withdraw "The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, June 17. The Trade Practices and Prices Commission has declared that a minimum price list circulated last year among optometrists is an illegal trade practice. In the meantime, the New Zealand Optometrical Association has agreed to cancel and withdraw the list. Some branches of the association, including Auckland, are understood to have circulated an “approved minimum scale of charges" in March last year. The chairman of the commission, Mr B. S. Barry, said that because the association had agreed to abandon the practice there would be no formal inquiry. The commission, however, formally ordered the association to cancel and withdraw the list and to refrain from price fixing and to refrain from reviving the practice.
