Wahine Fund Donations to the Wahine Disaster Fund now amount to $560.45c. This includes $11.54c raised by an 11-year-old boy who organised a street stall selling cakes and sweets made by his mother and her friends. A donation of $1.50 was taken to the North Canterbury centre of the Red Cross Society by a young girl who gathered and sold cones from fallen trees in Hagley Park. Thirty-one persons in Christchurch have assisted with new outfits of clothing, and in special cases, cash grants from the fund’ amounting to $960, have been paid. Hunger Trail A donation of $13,000 from the Roman Catholic community has increased the Council of Organisations for Relief Services Overseas "hunger trail” to $54,781. The one cent per inch trail now stretches 86 miles of the distance between North Cape and Bluff, the national secretary of C.0.R.5.0. (the Rev. H. C. Dixon) said.—(P.A.)
