Service At Hospital
About 150 hospital staff members, former staff members, doctors and representa-tiv-.s of the North Canterbury Hospital Board attended a Florence Nightingale service at the Christchurch Hospital chapel yesterday. The Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch (the Most Rev. B. P. Ashby) preached the sermon.
Hospital chaplains who officiated were Father W. G. Middleton (Roman Catholic), the Rev. H. G. Brown (Methodist), the Rev. W. D. Harding (Anglican), and the Rev. H. J. Crawford (Presbyterian). The lessons were read by the Matron, Miss B. C. Brankin, of the Christchurch Hospital, and Nurse J. A. Tower* sey, president of the Christchurch Student Nurses' Association.
