ful commerce, management has the responsibility of assessing the market potential and producing to meet that requirement No enterprise can afford to assume that sales must follow just because there is production, especially in this internationally competitive age. I suggest that to achieve effective sales expansion of the country's products we need a combination of the authority and financial resources of Government, coupled with the Commercial acumen and proven ability of leaders in commerce. Throughout the hon-Commu-nlst world there are continual mergers and regroupings of commercial undertakings to gain greater strength. New Zealand can expect little overall success from the present fragmented marketing methods.
