HOPKINSON, SECRETARY. 2363 I The State Electricity Commission of Queensland I MANAGER THE CAPRICORNIA REGIONAL ELECTRICITY BOARD THE STATE Electricity Commission of Queensland, on behalf of THE CAPRICORNIA REGIONAL ELECTRICITY BOARD, invites applications for the position of MANAGER of the Board with head office at Rockhampton, Queensland. The Board is an Electric Authority constituted un- 1 der the provisions of "The Regional Electric Authorities Acts, 1945 to 1964.” It is responsible for the generation and supply of electricity in a Region having an area of approximately 68,000 square miles which includes the City of Rockhampton, the Town of Gladstone and fourteen Shires embracing rural, industrial and commercial activities. The Board operates Steam Generating Stations at Caliide and Rockhampton and a gas turbine station at Rockhampton with installed capacities of 90 MW, 52.5 MW and 25 MW respectively. A further 30 MW at Callide is due for commissioning in 1969. These stations serve the main supply system extending from St Lawrence in the north to Monto, Cracow and Taroom in the south and westward to Blackwater. Transmission and distribution is at 132KV, 66KV, 33KV, 22KV and 11KV. There is an extensive 12.7KV single wire earth return system in operatibn. The Board also operates an isolated supply system embracing the four Shires in the western part of its region supplied from internal combustion engine driven generating stations at Clermont and Emerald with total installed capacities of 2170 KW and with distribution at 35KV and 22KV. In addition there are isolated internal combustion engine driven generating stations at Wandoan and Bluff serving township areas with installed capacities of 244 KW and 64KW respectively. Lines under construction provide for the incorporation of the subsidiary systems in the main system. The maximum demand on the Region totals approximately 75 MW and units sold at the rate of about 300 millions per annum. There are approximately 30,000 consumers and the annual revenue is in excess of $8 millions. Employees of the Board in all categories total about 700. Applicants should have had considerable experience in the management, operation and development of an undertaking of comparable scope and size, particularly in the field of electrical distribution. They should have appropriate academic qualifications preferably of the kind which would entitle them to Corporate Membership of a recognised engineering institution. The salary payable for the position will be within the range $lO,OOO to $10,750 per annum. Favourable recreation, sick and long service leave entitlements apply and a Staff Superanuation Scheme is in operation.
