House Brings $19,250

A two-storey house on a quarter-acre section at 9 Cranmer Square has bean sold at auction for $19,250. The Government valuation is $12,800 and the rates are $258. The property, on the west side of Cranmer Square, has a frontage of 99 links. The house has a dining room, lounge, kitchen, breakfast room and a large hobby room on the ground floor and four double bedrooms, a single bedroom, and a long sun balcony upstairs. There are two garages. The property was auctioned by Mr D. O. Chapman, of Ford and Hadfield, Ltd, who offered the property on behalf of the estate of C. M. Guthrie. Two bungalows and two self-contained flats on 70 perches of land with frontages to Aikmans Road and Cox Street were sold for $18,200 on Thursday. The Government valuation is $13,800 and the rates $180.87. At 9244 Aikmans Road there are two flats, one let at $4.50 a week.
