Heavy Use Of B.H.S. Hut
Kitsoa House, the mountain hut of the Christchurch Boys’ High School, was in use for 35 week-ends in the last 12 months, the headmaster (Mr C. F. S. Caldwell) told the school board of governors. Twenty-five of these weekends were for the school's own pupils. Twelve other schools from as far away as South Canterbury and the West Coast also used the hut Mr Caldwell said the hut was -just making its way financially." Depreciation was heavy, and the school might have to replace the hut in 10 years.
