AMMUNITION DANGEROUS

Warning
Ammunition which could be dangerous has been on sale in New Zealand, the poUce have warned. The Assistant Commisisoner of PoUce (Mr W. H. A. Sharp) said that a batch of 22 calibre Magnum ammunition could be dangerous. The ammunition is a particular batch manufactured in Austria, and known as “Hlrt-
enberg.” The batch carries, inside the packet the two identification numbers 570J06 and 85-2fi.
Mr Sharp has asked aU persons possessing 22 Hirtenberg ammunition to look inside the packet and check the maker’s batch number.
“In the interests of pubUe safety, the poUce ask anyone who owns or uses a 22 Magnum rifle, and who possesses Hirtenberg ammunition carrying these numbers, to return the unused cartridges to the supplier immediately,” Mr Sharp said.
