Mobilisation Step Nearer

South Vietnam’s House of Representatives todav approved the bill providing for general mobilisation of men and resources. President Nguyen Van Thieu requested emergency approval of general mobilisation last month to put his country on a full war footing, but the bill was much amended during committee and Parliamentary discussion. The legislators objected to a Presidential request for power to rule by decree, and this was withdrawn. All 92 members present at this morning’s session voted in favour of the measure. The bill now needs approval of the Senate, and President Thieu’s signature before becoming law.
