Diplomat Executed
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SAIGON, May 6. Baron Hasso Ruedt von Collenberg, First Secretary in the West Germany Embassy in Saigon, was executed by the Viet Cong yesterday during the street fighting in the South Vietnamese capital. The diplomat’s body was found near his white Volkswagen in the vicinity of the Phu Tho race track. He had been blindfolded, and some reports say his hands were tied behind his back. His body was found three blocks from where four news correspondents were also killed by the Viet Cong. Reporters who saw the baron’s body say he was shot in the back of the head. Baron von Collenberg, a bachelor, was near the end of his second diplomatic tour in Saigon.
