Japanese Ban
(N.Z.PA.-Reuter —Copyright) TOKYO, May 6. The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry today imposed a temporary ban on imports of meat from New Zealand, pending identification of the animal disease in Northland, a Ministry spokesman said. The spokesman said the Ministry was awaiting fur- > ther information from the New Zealand Embassy in Tokyo. The Ministry has told Japanese customs and importers that customs clearance would be suspended temporarily for meat from New Zealand.
