N.Z. Record Catch

(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, April 22. The 10171 b Pacific blue marlin landed by Mr R. Greig of Kaukapakapa while fishing in the Bay of Islands on March 13 was today confirmed as a New Zealand record catch. This is advised by the records officer of the New Zealand Big Game Fishing Council (Mr R. C. Dinsdale). Mr Greig used a line with 1301 b breaking strain to catch the fish which easily beat the previous best Pacific blue marlin, a 7581 b fish caught by Mr B. Ashby in 1963.
