(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright/ WASHINGTON, April 20. A Marine private, Mary Elizabeth Burns, who was court-martialled after she stopped wearing her uniform, has been discharged from the corps.

A Marine spokesman said Miss Burns, aged 21, was “separated from military service at the convenience of the Government.” Miss Burns was reduced from corporal to private and fined $2O, in a summary courtmartial last Friday, for refusing to obey orders. After three years in the corps, she had decided that being a Marine conflicted with her religion and that war was immoral.
