Chathams Convoy

At least one convoy of fishing craft is expected to leave Canterbury for the Chathams about the middle of next month to engage in crayfishing. Among craft now preparing at Lyttelton or waiting to sail, are the Kingfisher,' Nimbus, Tawera and Coromel, all of which have previously been to the Chathams. The Rosalind, Kotare, Theseus and the recently-launched Cavalier are also expected to go.

Whether these craft will go in the same convoy, with Timaru craft or independently, will depend on the state of readiness at the sailing date. The Timaru-owned trawlers, Norseman and Joy, are also expected to sail next month. A trawler from Tauranga may also go.
